To do list for November:
- Clean up fallen leaves and put on compost heap.
- Plant out winter bedding e.g. viola, pansy, cyclamen and primroses.
- Insulate outdoor containers from frost, you could even cover them in bubble wrap.
- Check and clean all your bird-feeders and birdhouses and put out bird food for birds.
- There is still time to plant Daffodil plants. Also remember to put in your tulip bulbs and it’s also the perfect time to plant your hyacinths.
- You can still aerate your lawn if you haven’t done so already. Also set your lawnmower on a higher cut- height for winter.
- Clean out your shed, wash, dry and store seed trays, and pots to remove any overwintering pests.
- Clean gardening tools and apply linseed oil to prevent rusting over winter.
