Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming Orla McGrane back to the Garden Center for our first Christmas Floral Demonstration. I was lucky enough to have the time to sit and watch this florist artist at work and she certainly did not disappoint!
The pieces that Orla made were simple using everyday foliage from the garden but put together in her unique way to create stunning wreaths and Christmas decor that anyone would be proud to display in their homes. Orla was great at sharing her 'tricks of the trade' and the audience were interactive and asked questions throughout the session.
Some of the foliage that Orla used included;
Pittosporum Irene Patterson
Choisya Aztec Pearl
Choisya Ternata
Pittosporum Tobira
Sarcococca confusa - Christmas box
Fatsia 'Spiders Web'
Myrtle
Fathedera Lizei
Heuchera 'Marmalade'
Hebe buxifolia nana
Hypericum Green
Skimmia 'Kew Green'
Here are some of Orla's creations from yesterday. We look forward to welcoming Orla back again next week on Thursday November of 26th 2015! I can't wait :)
