Bulbs
Check stored bulbs and vegetables, make sure nothing has rotted or dried out.

Pruning
Now is a very good time to prune your free standing apple or pear trees to encourage branching and bushiness from the main stem. Check stakes and ties that may have loosened and replace or remove them. Prune roses and finish pruning deciduous trees before the dormant season is over.

Pinching your Sweet Peas
Sweet peas sown last autumn are now ready to be pinched. Removing the growing tip will encourage the seedlings to develop side shoots and you will have nice bushy plants in a few months’ time.
