Spring Bulbs with Powerscourt Garden Pavilion With such beautiful weather of late, you will be forgiven for forgetting about planting your spring bulbs! For a magnificent spring display, bulbs such as daffodils, crocus, snowdrops and hyacinths should be planted now without delay. Other bulbs such as Allium and Hyacinths can be planted at the end of November. Herbaceous Border Powerscourt. Image Credit Suzanne Clarke (1) Tulips are one of my favourite bulbs for spring! They are so showy and spectacular, particularly if you get your planting combination correct. Always check your flowering height and flowering time as well as co-ordinating the colours. Combinations such as Tulipa Angelique, Royal Acres and Mount Tacoma will give a lovely pink, purple and white display which flowers in late April and into early May. For more candy type colours, try Tulipa Muscadet, Menton and Grand Douceur which give a lemon, pink and strawberry colour combination. Tulips in front of Powerscourt House. They have large globular flowers at least 10cm in diameter and enjoy a sunny spot in the garden. Try varieties such as Allium giganteum, jesdianum and early emperor for a late spring display.
